On September 24, Natalie Portman rocked an outfit inspired by the medieval period at the Dior PFW show. The “Black Swan” star wore a look straight off the Dior Cruise 2025 runway. The all-black set incorporated chainmail elements for the medieval touch. Natalie Portman’s Paris Fashion Week fit also had Scottish influence, which was highlighted through heritage prints.
Natalie Portman goes for Scottish elegance for PFW
The star-studded Dior PFW show on Tuesday also saw the attendance of veteran actor Natalie Portman, who showed up in an entirely black ensemble. The fit was all-Dior and part of the Cruise 2025 collection. The flared skirt had a medieval touch to it thanks to the embellishments that made it look like it was made of chainmail material.
The actor paired it with a black jacket with puffy sleeves and corset detailing running down the middle. A combination of buckles, belts, and zippers added texture to the front of the jacket, with the lace-up element continuing the medieval theme.
Natalie Portman’s Paris Fashion Week outfit was further elevated with a matching pair of boots with eye-catching silver buckle detailing. The footwear choice was also borrowed from the Dior runway look. She wrapped up the all-black ensemble with a minimalistic pendant choker necklace that brought together the entire fit.
For the Dior Cruise 2025 collection, Maria Grazia Chiuri took inspiration from Clare Hunter’s “Embroidering Her Truth: Mary Queen of Scots and the Language of Power.” As per WWD, the collection featured tartan designs of Scottish origin and chainmail-like fabric, much like the outfit Natalie Portman opted for. Chiuri also took inspiration from medieval figures like Mary, Queen of Scots.
Portman has previously donned pieces from the same collection, sporting a dress made entirely of chainmail-like material just last week. Both looks shared some resemblance, as they both featured similar fabric and dramatic puffy sleeves. However, the floor-length dress had some gorgeous embroidery at the front that made it stand out from the rest.
