You might not need reminding Virginie Viard is out at Chanel (with a replacement yet to be appointed). The first advertising campaign post-Viard’s abrupt and unexpected departure is here, for Fall 2024. The Deauville-inspired collection ultimately became Viard’s last as creative director, unveiled during Paris Fashion Week back in March. Viard’s firm faves Inez van Lamsweerde & Vinoodh Matadin were enlisted to capture the accompanying campaign. Chanel brand ambassador Margaret Qualley was called upon to be the face and embodiment of the collection. The American actress dons a dark bob hairstyle throughout the playful and cinematic series of campaign images, set against an array of Paris backdrops.
