As creative director of Fendi womenswear, Kim Jones sure does love himself a good collaboration and has made them a feature of his tenure at the storied Italian fashion house. The British designer (also creative director of Dior Men) first put the collab in collaboration, linking up with fashion legend Donatella Versace to swap roles and fashion houses for one night only, which ultimately sent the industry into an absolute high-fashion frenzy during Milan Fashion Week. Next came Jones joining forces with Kim Kardashian for a special Fendi x SKIMS capsule collection and it was for Fendi’s Resort 2023 showcase in New York back in September 2022 to celebrate the brand’s 25th anniversary of the iconic Baguette handbag, which gave us Jones and Marc Jacobs teaming up (complete with supermodel Linda Evangelista making an appearance).
Jones’ next partner-in-fashion is Stefano Pilati, with the pair co-creating a collection for Resort 2024, in a continuation of the ‘Friends of Fendi’ initiative. Spanning both womens and menswear, the collection boasts splashes of Pilati’s signature tailoring and a masterclass in drop waists.
“He is a friend, an inspiration and a designer for modern times — always looking to the future, asking questions and proffering solutions.”

“There’s a sense of bourgeoisie that is very Fendi but it’s so sad and gloomy! I think that this collection, with colors and interesting mix of patterns would have been more Fendi. This is not the kind of clothes anyone goes to Fendi for…” pointed out Lola701.
“This feels very drab and somber… depressing,” echoed Salvatore. “Pilati feels like he has a depressive touch as of late.”
Reese06 felt the same way, adding: “It’s so gloomy and muddy. Dark and slouchy, and there’s no joy in these clothes.”
“The lack of budget that went into this lookbook says it all I think,” noted tatouejeremie.
“It’s somber for Fendi but it’s also better than anything Kim has done for Fendi by a longgggggg stretch. If Pilati could just get a little behind celebrity culture/endorsement and make a few hot ticket commercial items (which he obviously did at YSL) there is no doubt in my mind he could be at a big brand,” voiced TianCouture.
“Gorgeous silhouettes. The fabric choices look impeccable,” praised Nimsay.
