There’s always excitement on our forums whenever a new issue of WSJ. Magazine drops and the title’s latest is no exception. After all, it has been delivering the goods throughout 2020 by bestowing upon us gorgeous covers featuring Adut Akech, Nicole Kidman and Doutzen Kroes. For September 2020, the mag taps tennis ace Naomi Osaka as its cover subject posing before the lens of photographer Micaiah Carter. For the tranquil and simply beautiful cover shot, Naomi is snapped outside sporting a look from Chanel that stylist Jessica Willis opted to team with a pair of Nike sneakers.
The cover was an instant hit. “Love this mood. Props to WSJ. Magazine for publishing a simple yet gorgeous cover!” praised bluestar.
“I’d maybe amp up the styling, but this is a stunning shot. Micaiah Carter is the photographer whose name should be on everyone’s lips because he has been doing great work and recently proved with Megan Thee Stallion‘s Marie Claire cover that he can flip between commercial and avant-garde photography,” Benn98 chimed in.
“I kind of like the realism regarding the photography. The outcome is quite elegant and powerful that gives you a sense of hope,” appreciated JohannesL.

“Love the cover and I love her!” confessed mepps.
TheoG used the word “gorgeous” to describe the cover, while BlueRuin thought it was “lovely.”
“Micaiah Carter is the one to watch. The photography here is beautiful. Not the kind of image I would choose for a cover image, don’t know why they couldn’t have gone closer. Still, I’ll take what I can get,” said Fiercification.
“I love WSJ. Magazine‘s full-body shot covers. They’ve done it before in the past — one of my favorites is Emma Stone‘s from 2015,” commented Yohji.
