Virgil Abloh, Marc Jacobs, Rick Owens and More Nominated for the 2019 CFDA Fashion Awards

The Council of Fashion Designers of America (CFDA) has just announced the nominees for the prestigious and much-awaited CFDA Fashion Awards. Virgil Abloh leads the pack with two nominations, for both Menswear and Accessory Designer of the Year, while three previous Emerging Talent winners (Sander Lak for Sies Marjan, Brandon Maxwell and Rosie Assoulin) are all nominated for Womenswear Designer of the Year.

In an official statement, CFDA president Steven Kolb said, “The CFDA Fashion Awards celebrate the outstanding creativity in American fashion. There will be exciting changes to this year’s awards, and we are honored to have Valentino and Giancarlo Giammetti join us as we name the International Award.” The award show will be held at the Brooklyn Museum on June 3.
