On Monday night, at about 10:30 p.m. local time (5:30 p.m. EST), an explosion rocked England’s Manchester Arena, killing at least 22 people and injuring dozens more (59 were hospitalized, some with life-threatening wounds). Thousands had gathered at the 21,000-seat event space to take in Ariana Grande’s “Dangerous Woman” tour. Fans had just begun exiting the arena when a bomb detonated in the lobby.
“We now know that a single terrorist detonated his improvised explosive device near one of the exits of the venue, deliberately choosing the time and place to cause maximum carnage and to kill and injure indiscriminately,” said U.K. Prime Minister Theresa May in a televised statement. This is the deadliest act of terrorism to hit Britain since the 2005 subway bombings.
A few hours after the attack, Grande took to Twitter to express her devastation.
broken.
from the bottom of my heart, i am so so sorry. i don’t have words.— Ariana Grande (@ArianaGrande) May 23, 2017
In a separate statement, Grande’s manager Scooter Braun (who also represents Justin Bieber) echoed her sentiments.

TMZ reports that Grande has (understandably) decided to postpone the European leg of her “Dangerous Woman” world tour, however Billboard’s sources say Grande’s team has yet to make a decision. Grande’s fans, friends and fellow entertainers have been outspoken in their support for the singer and all those affected by the attack.
