Following the exit of bully buddies Natalia Kills and Willy Moon from The X Factor New Zealand earlier this week, the program has revealed that Aussie musician and childrenswear designer Natalie Bassingthwaighte will be taking over the role alongside drummer Shelton Woolright.

“I am thrilled to be joining The X Factor New Zealand family and I can’t wait to begin mentoring my boys,” Bassingthwaighte said in a press release. “I have a few tricks up my sleeve that I hope will see them through to the very end of the competition,” she continued.
Bassingthwaighte has worked on The X Factor Australia for the last four years, and, from what we can recall, has never harassed a contestant like Kills and Moon did. She’s also never coached a winner for the show, but perhaps the NZ air could be just what she needs to slip a victory under her belt.
Considering the show is only in its early stages, and that the 29-year-old just recently launched her own kids clothing line, Chi Khi, we predict this will be a very busy year for the budding fashionista. She was also named an ambassador for the Autumn Racing Carnival, but we imagine she’ll be a no-show at the Golden Slipper tomorrow thanks to the new gig.
Meanwhile, Kills and Moon have offered official apologies for their behaviour towards contestant Joe Irvine on Twitter, believing they were “encouraged” to be “outspoken”, “forthright” and “highly opinionated”.
