Last week, Anthony Vaccarello showed his namesake Fall 2015 collection during Paris Fashion Week, where makeup artist Tom Pecheux created a graphic, star-shaped cat-eye for the models. The designer, who is also the creative director of Versus, is now entering the world of cosmetics with Lancôme.
“I was inspired by the Lancôme woman’s femininity and charisma — a special kind of elegance that’s never lifeless nor frozen. For me, Lancôme embodies the philosophy of understated beauty: it’s something quintessentially French,” said the designer in a statement to Vogue UK.
Lancôme’s international general director, Françoise Lehmann, says, “We are thrilled he has agreed to join us in this collaboration, taking over from talents such as Proenza Schouler, Alber Elbaz and, more recently, Yiqing Yin, Alexandre Vauthier and Jacquemus. Entrusting a selection of our most iconic products to a designer with such a unique creative universe is an incredibly energising and enriching experience for a Maison like ours that constantly combines heritage and innovation.”
The limited-edition range will launch in Europe in October 2015 and stateside on Net-a-Porter thereafter.
