Since her debut in 2012, Jordana Warmflash has been jockeying for a spot in the big leagues with her color-happy collections nodding to the 60s. This year, the rising star kicked it up a notch with an Ecco Domani Award, a new e-commerce site and major red carpet status, thanks to a little-known singer named Taylor Swift. Intrigued?
theFashionSpot: Inspiration, please!
Jordana Warmflash: The inspiration started with Pop art. I used a lot of saturated, bold colors mixed in with graphic details.
tFS: We love the lemon props.
JW: Did you see the lemons in one of the prints, too? They really come from the way Pop art often incorporates commercial products in a high-low way. We wanted to elevate something you can buy for only 99 cents.
tFS: What’s your favorite art museum in the city?
JW: The Whitney!
tFS: What was the best art exhibit you saw this year?
JW: I loved the Jeff Koons retrospective.
tFS: If you could own any painting, what would you choose?
JW: Anything by Tom Wesselmann!
