Good vs. evil? The sword cuts both ways! And somehow despite our differences we are all divinely the same. There was a beautiful dichotomy evident in Prabal Gurung’s Fall 2012 Collection; redolent, luxurious, and seductive, speaking of a self-realized woman who has come to her full power.
Interestingly, the makeup look for this show, created by Charlotte Tilbury, really crystalized for me what could be the driving force behind this collection. Possibly one of the boldest looks this season, a great welcome given the muted and almost makeup-free faces seen on most other runways.
Gorgeous teal washes the lid as peacock blue creates a slash extending from the inner corners lifting the eyes and ending at the edges of the brows. Accents of iridescent green and brown deepen the eyes creating a sense of meaning and gravity to the brilliance — a look made possible by the creatives at MAC Cosmetics.
Although the clothing leads us on a journey from dark to light, this look unifies the transition as a reminder that the same woman has many ways to be. With such apparent confidence this fusion is not a reconciliation but rather a celebration or declaration of the right to be oneself.
